In March 2020, Hope Spring recorded an advocacy success in its #ClaimYourWaterRights campaign in three states in Nigeria Enugu, Ogun and Abuja. Claim your water rights is a campaign that sensitizes people on human rights to water, mobilising people to claim their rights to clean water and sanitation.

Following the series of advocacy visits to Enugu water cooperation and other organisations in charge of water supply, Enugu declared an emergency in its WASH sector and promised to improve in its provision of clean water and sanitation in the state.

National workshop on the human right to water was held at Ogun State College of Health Technology Ilese Ijebu in commemoration of world water week. With speakers speaking on leveraging on human rights to water to alleviate water poverty. At the end of the workshop, Hope Spring got an award for outstanding contribution to WASH

Hope Spring Claim your water rights team took its sensitization campaign to LEA Primary school Zhiyinda to teach the students on their water rights and how to demand it. Speaking with the Hope Spring team, the students complained of lack of access to clean water and a decent toilet. After sensitization, the student demanded their water rights through a short video.

Hope Spring claim your water rights will continue to sensitize grass-root communities on their water rights, guiding them on how to lodge and submit complaints to NHRIs and claim their water rights
