Millennium development goal has come and gone. More than 600 million people still lack access to safe clean water, more than a billion lack adequate sanitation. Perhaps SDG 6, will help most of the people yet to have access to clean water and sanitation.

African ministers council on water
African is probably the continent that faces the greatest challenges when it comes to water. That fact is not lost on the government of the 54 nations on the continent. In 2002, at a meeting in Abuja, Nigeria, West Africa the African Ministers Council on Water, known as AMCOW for short was formed.
The primary objective of the council was the effective management of the continent’s water resources and provision of water supply. The council also delve into other issues such as social and economic development and poverty alleviation. You can find the councils full charter on their website. Alternative World Water Forum
The Alternative World Water Forum (AWWF) gathering tool place in the French city of Marseille. The forum was made up of more than one hundred and fifty organisations, including water users, NGOs, environmentalist association, trade unions and others from more than thirty countries.
The objective of AWWF is to create an alternative to the sixth World Water Forum (WWF), which was organized by the World Water Council. You can read more about AWWF aims and why they disagree with WWF on their website.
Building Partnerships for Development in Water and Sanitation (BPDWS) is a London based charity that improves the provision of water and sanitation services in unserved and poorly served communities. They have a vision to see unserved and poorly served communities, sustainably accessing safe water and sanitation service. To focus on helping establish an effective stakeholder relationships, to help manage water resources.
